Runaway is a parkour plat-former and the first game of Burning Sky Games. Play as Tim in the story mode and explore the post-apocalyptic Los Sorenos, torn apart by selfish businessmen and citizen gangs formed from the unrest. Bring beauty back to the city by graffitiing inspiring art pieces over images of hate, but will the pressure of the city get to you? Will you fight or runaway?
The brief was to be inspired by street graffiti of major US cities, notably Philadelphia and New York City, and punk-rock style. I created the Runaway game logos, branding guidelines, mood boards, and initial sketches of concept art. These items were translated into promotional materials, such as postcards, banners, and stickers. They were taken to several conventions such as MAGFest, BostonFIG, and Drexel Startup Fest. I also designed in-game assets and illustrations for the releases of the first demo, notably the concept for the menu. Once I solidified the initial visual aesthetic, I directed a small group of artists to work on additional illustrations, character design, in-game assets, and more.
