Lavender & Pincushions is the personal brand of Alexandra Miller for business and entertainment purposes. A fashion designer, artist, and thrift-shop enthusiast, she wanted Lavender & Pincushions to radiate fun, whimsy, and flexibility for the future. I took some literal inspiration from the conceived brand name by presenting a pincushion (flower) and lavender stalk. The hardest challenge was designing these complex shapes into a simple graphic form that could be used anywhere. I choose a thin slap serif typeface that mimics that sewing stitches and softens the bulky graphic logo. The overall color palette was taken from various fashion projects previously done by Alex. This was to be a brand to represent her freelance fashion work and craft, and there was no easier way than taking inspiration from her inspirations.
